“Mahajana Suwadhana” International Healthcare Exhibition 2017

The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka has joined hands with the Ceylon College of Physicians with the concurrence of the Ministry of Health, Nutrition & Indigenous Medicine to hold the “Mahajana Suwadhana” International Healthcare Exhibition & Medical Symposium on 14,15 & 16 July 2017 at the BMICH. The event is organized to commemorate the 50th Anniversary celebrations of the Ceylon College of Physicians. The Ceylon College of Physicians, the oldest professional body of consultant physicians in Sri Lanka, in its 50th year, is reaching out to the public.

This monumental medical exhibition spanning over 3 days will depict the health care in Sri Lanka, highlighting the available diagnostic facilities, supportive care, future developments and provide health education to the public on common medical conditions A large number of local and international stakeholders in the healthcare sector in Sri Lanka will be participating in this event to display the expertise and latest healthcare facilities available in the country.

The Ministry of Health is the main stakeholder in healthcare in the country and provides quality free healthcare to the public of Sri Lanka. In addition to the free health care system in Sri Lanka, there is an upcoming vibrant private sector healthcare conforming to the highest international standards with the expertise of highly qualified medical specialists and para-medical personnel and state of the art equipment to cater to all patient needs.

Sri Lanka is fast becoming an important hub for both international patients and international suppliers. This exhibition will provide the ideal opportunity for the stake holders in the healthcare industry to interact with healthcare professionals and industry personnel as well as local and foreign visitors in promoting their products and services.

Medical Symposium

Presentations and discussions on special topics related to the medical sector such as educating the public on non- communicable diseases such as Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension, Stroke, Ischemic heart disease, Chronic Respiratory diseases, cancers, etc and the preventive measures that could be taken in combating these diseases. The public will get an opportunity to interact with the specialists representing different disciplines in Medicine in the Medical Symposium.


Objectives

  • To create awareness among the general public, professionals, students, overseas visitors and private sector Healthcare Institutions/Agencies on advanced treatment methods and new products and services available in Sri Lanka.
  • To focus on Projects in the Industry and attract both foreign and local investors.
  • To create awareness about the best practices, latest developments and research findings in the Healthcare sector through the Medical Symposium.
  • To promote health and deliver key messages in healthcare regarding diet, lifestyle modifications and medications and interventions to the general public.
  • To provide Health Education regarding major non communicable diseases such as Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension, Stroke, Ischemic heart disease, Chronic Respiratory diseases and cancers, and many other diseases to the public.
  • To educate the general public about the available health services both in the public and private sector.
  • To promote Sri Lanka as a Medical Hub in the region and promote medical tourism.
  • To further develop the Sri Lankan medical sector.
